• The 10km Challenge is open to all female runners/walkers 14 years and older.
  • The 5km Challenge is open to all female runners/walkers 9 years and older.
  • No male entrants allowed.
  • Race circuit starts and finishes at The Bellville Velodrome. A route map will be available at Race Number Collection.
  • There is no formal registration this year. Registration happens when you collect your race number at one of the participating Sportsmans Warehouse outlets.
  • Race number, T-shirt and the SPAR Cape Town Race Magazine must be collected before race day at the pickup point you specify on your online entry. NO number collection or late entries on the day of the race.
  • Closing date for entries is 11th March 2018 or when the maximum of 21 000 entries is confirmed.
  • There is a cut-off of 21 000 entries. Once we have received confirmation of 21 000 entries, no further entries will be permitted.
  • All 10km participants will be issued with one SPAR Race Number to be worn on the front and one Temporary Licence to be worn on the back. Licensed runners must wear their permanent
  • ASA licenses, front and back. 5km participants will receive one race number to be worn on the front.
  • Race Timing: Only the 10km events will be officially timed.
  • Seeding: All Club runners dressed in club colours will be seeded for the 10 km race. Runners and walkers will be seeded separately.
  • Prizes: Prize giving starts at 09:30. Only entrants present when the lucky draw takes place will be eligible to win prizes. CHILDREN UNDER 14 YEARS AND ANY MALE ENTRANTS ARE NOT
  • ELIGIBLE FOR ANY PRIZES. Entertainment will start at 10:00.
  • The race is organised by Western Province Athletics according to the rules of ASA.
  • Medals will be awarded to all entrants who complete the race.
  • Water will be available along the route and at the finish.
  • Goodie Bags will be distributed at the FINISH OF THE RACE.
  • Toilets will be available at the start and finish.
  • Tog bag facilities will be available at the finish. Organisers will take reasonable care but no responsibility will be accepted for damages or loss of personal items. Do not leave valuables or
  • cash in your tog bag.
  • In addition to Overall (Open) prizes, participants will only be eligible for an age category prize in the age category they enter. Corresponding numerical age tags must be worn on the front and back of the vest. Participants may enter the age category corresponding to their chronological age or any younger category down to senior.
  • Unlicensed WPA participants are eligible for age category prizes provided they enter the relevant age group, wear the appropriate age tags and provide proof of age.
  • Junior (born 1999 or later) must display category “J” tags to qualify for age group prizes or team prizes.
  • Club colours must be worn to qualify for team prizes.
  • No personal seconding shall be allowed on the route, except at official refreshment stations.
  • Company teams are encouraged to wear SPAR T-shirts. No other sponsored T-shirts to be worn.
  • Marshalls and traffic officials must be obeyed at all times. Failure to comply with the instructions may lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Refreshments will be on sale at the finish area.
  • Pets are not permitted.
  • The SPAR Group shall have all media rights to this race event. You understand and agree that any form of media pertaining to this event, including your image, may be used by the SPAR
  • Group in its sole and exclusive discretion without further notice to or consent by you.
  • The SPAR Group and Disaster Risk Management reserves the right to refuse or to limit the number of race entries as it may deem necessary in its sole and exclusive discretion.
  • Participants with prams, strollers and small children will be allowed to participate in the 5KM ONLY and do so at their own risk. Please assemble at the rear end of the field and give way to runners at all times.
