SPAR WOMEN’S 10/5km CHALLENGE LUCKY DRAW (“Competition”) 

1.     The Promotor is the SPAR Group Limited (Company Registration Number 1967/001572/06).
2.     The “Participant” is a person who complies with the entry requirements of this Competition.
3.     This Competition will run from 30 March 2025 until 5 October 2025.

4.     Participation and Prizes
4.1.  Participants who enter by competing in one of the following SPAR Women’s 5km or 10km races (“Events”) below:

And place the tear-off section on their race numbers in the lucky draw containers to stand a chance to win 1 of 5 Hyundai Exter 1.2 Premium MT to the value of R269 900 (“the Prize”). The Prize includes licence and registration fees. Insurance and fuel are not included in the Prize.
4.2.   Participants must have completed an Event and must be present at the lucky draw prize giving for that Event which will take place at such Event after the race is over.
4.3.  Participants must be able to present their race bib showing their race number as proof of entering the competition.
4.4.  The maximum number of winners is
4.5. There will be 1 winner per SPAR Women’s Challenge event.

5.     Who may enter?
The Competition is open to Women who are citizens of South Africa (in possession of a valid identification document and/or permanent resident identification document), who are 18 years of age or over, except for the members, shareholders, directors, employees, partners, agents and consultants (and their respective life partners, business partners and immediate families) of:
5.1.         the Promoter, the SPAR Guild of Southern Africa NPC and the Build it Guild of Southern Africa NPC; and
5.2.         The suppliers of the Promoter which supply the Prizes.

6.     How to enter
To enter the Competition the Participant:
6.1.         must complete the Event.
6.2.         must place the tear-off section on their race bib in the lucky draw containers at the Event;
6.3.         must be able to present their race number as proof of entering the competition:
6.4.         may only enter the lucky draw once;
6.5.         must be in possession of a valid driver’s licence
6.6.         must provide their race bib with their race number.

7.     Award and delivery of Prizes
7.1.         The winners will be randomly selected by a random draw from the pool of entrants who comply with the requirements of these rules. The results of the draw shall be final.
7.2.         A random lucky draw will take place at the end of each Event during the prize-giving ceremony.
7.3.         The winner will be notified on the day of the event from the stage. If the person whose ticket has been drawn is not present at prize giving, a redraw will take place, until a winner has been chosen.
7.4.         Winners must present proof of identity (green bar-coded ID book or a Smart ID Card).
7.5.         Similarly, should a drawn winner not be eligible to win for not meeting the requirements as set out in clause 5 herein, a redraw will take place, until a winner has been chosen. 
7.6.         Prizes may not be transferred or exchanged for cash or for any other goods or services.
7.7.         The names of the winners will be published on the SPAR website (www.spar.co.za) and on social media once the winners have been validated and verified. The participant, accordingly, by participating in this competition, provides their consent to supply their Personal information for the aforesaid purposes as contemplated in terms of Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”). The winners’ names will also be featured in national press advertisements after the competition has ended and, in this regard, the Participant/winner will be required to sign further documents as may be reasonably requested by the Promoter for the aforesaid purposes prior to any publication. However, the Participant/winner is hereby notified that they may opt to decline their participation in such advertisements. If the Participant/winner opts to participate in such advertisement, they shall have no claim to any compensation or payment or royalties in respect of their name and/or images.
7.8.         By accepting the prize, the winners of the “SPAR WOMEN’S CHALLENGE WIN A CAR COMPETITION” agree that the Promoter may use their names and pictures for any future marketing material by the Promoter in print and digital media and in this regard, the Participant/winner will be required to sign further documents as may be reasonably requested by the Promoter for the aforesaid purposes prior to any publication. However, the Participant/winner is hereby notified that it may opt to decline their participation in such marketing material. If the Participant/winner opts to participate in such marketing material, they shall have no claim to any compensation or payment in respect of their name and/or images.

8.     Binding nature of these rules
8.1.         By participating or entering this Competition, Participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these rules which will be interpreted and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. All information relating to this Competition and published on any Promotional material will form part of the terms and conditions of entry.
8.2.         To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither the Promoter, its associated companies, nor any directors, officers or employees of such nor their partners or agents supporting the Competition shall be responsible for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered by any Participant/entrant or winner or their accompanying person(s) (including but not limited to any direct, indirect, consequential, special, punitive or incidental loss or damages) or for any personal injury (whether physical or mental) suffered or sustained by any participant/entrant or winner and/or their accompanying person(s) as a result of or in connection with the Competition or the acceptance, use or application of the prize.
8.3.         By accepting the prize, the winners of the Competition agree that the Promoter may use their names and pictures for any future marketing material by the Promoter in print and digital media and in this regard, the Participant/winner will be required to sign further documents as may be reasonably requested by the Promoter for the aforesaid purposes prior to any publication. However, the Participant/winner is hereby notified that it may opt to decline their participation in such marketing material. If the Participant/winner opts to participate in such marketing material, they shall have no claim to any compensation or payment in respect of their name and/or images.
8.4.         A copy of these competition rules is available at all SPAR stores on selected in-store advertising material and may also be viewed at https:/www.sparwomensrace.co.za.
8.5.         The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever.
8.6.         The Promoter is not responsible for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind.
8.7.         The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data.
8.8.         The Promoter shall have the right to change or terminate the promotional competition immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in its opinion and if circumstances arise outside of their control. In the event of such change or termination, all Participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter or its agents.
8.9.         If the Prize is not available despite the Promoter’s reasonable endeavours to procure the Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize of equal value at its sole discretion
8.10.      The Promoter does not make any representation or give any warranties, whether expressly or implicitly as to a prize, and in particular, without limitation, makes no representations and gives no warranty that the prize, or any aspect thereof, will meet the Participant’s requirements, preferences, standards or expectations.
8.11.      If a dispute arises in relation to the interpretation of the Competition and/or its terms and conditions, the Promoter’s decision shall be final and binding, and no correspondence shall be entered into.
8.12.      If any of the terms and conditions contained herein are found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, such terms will be severable from the remaining terms of these terms and conditions, which will continue to be valid and enforceable.
8.13.      In your interest, the Promoter has done everything reasonably practicable to comply with all the relevant laws that they are subject to for the competition. 8.14.      By entering this Promotion, Participants agree to receive future marketing material from the brand’s on promotion. 8.15.      The Promoter will be responsible for only those costs which these terms and conditions expressly state that the Promoter will pay.
8.16.      The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever (including, without limitation, as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind). Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt. The Promoter shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this Promotion that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
